UCanDance offers a range of different dance style for you to get down and groove with. Read on for more information about our current classes.
Term 2 Semester 1, 2024
Tuesday Classes (30 April to 28 May)
Charleston and Modern Jive
Thursday Classes (2 May to 30 June)
Line Dance and Rock n’ Roll
Location: TBC
Time: 7pm – 9.30pm
This class involves a lesson in Charleston and Modern Jive with a break in between styles to cool off, and later an opportunity to put your new skills to work on the dance floor with some social dancing.
Location: Westburn School – 257 Waimairi Road, Ilam
Time: 7pm – 9.30pm
Structured similarly to Tuesday classes, attendees will receive a lesson in Line Dance followed by a short break and a lesson in Rock n’ Roll. Again, later there will be a chance to dance with others free of teaching.
Class will be held in the school hall which can be found down the main driveway. Please park on concrete areas only.
Make sure your water bottle is full! No kitchen on site.
Modern Jive
Modern Jive is an easy partner dance with no fancy footwork. It’s danced to a wide variety of music, including top 20 hits.
Each class teaches 3 beginner moves that can be mixed and matched together. We like to think that there are no mistakes in Modern Jive, only variations!

5 Class Pass
Pay for 5 classes and save $$! Makes getting in the door at classes fast and easy, no more fussing about with cash or bank transfers every time. Just get your card clicked and you’re off dancing
