Our aim at UCanDance is to give you a taste of different types of dance.
If you’d like to learn more of a particular style, we recommend the following dance clubs. Some of them work with our club and offer student deals.
Fevah
Fevah Modern Jive runs fun, social dance classes and social events for adults and teens of all levels around Chch. Complete beginners are very welcome.
The most popular class for younger dancers is Wednesday evenings at Avonhead school. Check out the following links for more details!
Latin Fire
Latin Fire is our top pick for learning Salsa and Bachata in Christchurch.
Their 8 week beginner courses run regularly throughout the year and the first class is free!

Swing Town Rebels
The Swingtown rebels are a fun community of dancers in Christchurch who teach, perform and social dance an array of swing dance styles from the 1920s, 30s and 40s including Lindy hop, Blues, Balboa, Collegiate Shag, Charlestons, Burlesque and jazz-style strolls.

Linedance Christchurch
In 2023 UCanDance members joined LineDance Christchurch’s Monday classes and loved it! This isn’t just old country music and dusty boots. Our favourite songs included Rhianna, Ed Sheeran and Meghan Trainor.
